The extraordinary granite stones.

 

A beautiful walk through the forest will find you at the top of Mount Barlot where the stones rest, where you'll also have panoramic views of the Berry and the Valley of Boussac.


For many centuries visitors have tried to discover the history of these stones but still to this day the mystery of their origin remains.

There are many small villages nearby, all having beautiful churches, memorials, towers and gardens. Some are small and sleepy, others have bustling markets.


Local activities include walking, tree adventures, swimming, zip-lines, Châteaux, riding,* basket weaving,* and canoeing.*

LIMOGES


Limoges is known for its medieval and Renaissance enamels on copper, for its 19th-century porcelain and for its oak barrels which are used for Cognac production.


Amongst many other things, it has a beautiful cathedral, a fine arts museum, aquarium, winding cobblestone streets, botanical gardens, 12th century castle ruins and a resistance museum.
